Dear Friends,
Tim Benedict here. I’m sending out this request on behalf of a friend and brother.
Several years ago, I asked the Lord if there was a pastor somewhere in Africa that could benefit from my assistance. I’ve seen lots of different scam requests and emails from all over Africa, and I didn’t want to be suckered in by anyone. I wanted to meet a legitimate, God-fearing, Jesus –loving, someone-making-a-difference, African pastor that I could become friends with, pray for, and help.
Then I forgot about it.
As I have seen God do a number of times by answering prayers for me that I had honestly forgotten about, He didn’t forget about this one either.
Several months ago, a friend I have known for about 20 years, introduced me to a pastor friend of hers from Kenya, that was over here visiting. Pastor Michael Masambu. He mentioned to my friend that he needed technical help for his ministry and mission station back in Kenya. In specific, he needed reliable internet service and reliable power, to operate his growing online internet radio and tv ministry. My friend immediately thought of me, called me, and introduced us.
One of my life mantras that I try to live by is, “There is strength when brothers stand together at the city gates.” It’s my really bad translation of a verse in the Psalms, but the principle holds true.
I found a brother when I met Pastor Michael.
I immediately steered him towards a better internet provider, and then hooked him up with an electrical engineer and firm already in Kenya, through my brother Jeff who has contacts there.
Then I went shopping, and filled a 57 pound suitcase of my own with networking gear, computer stuff, and studio equipment. I sent this suitcase with our mutual friend who then went over there with her husband for a month leading a ministry of her own under Michael’s umbrella. According to Pastor Michael, the equipment I sent is already helping them immensely (after it miraculously made it thru customs unscathed!).
Now for the power issue.
Pastor Michael now has in hand, a proposal for a solar-energy-back-up-power installation for his mission station, church, studios, and resource center. I’ve looked it over and it looks complete to me. The cost for this installation is about $15,000 US dollars.
I told him I would like to help fundraise for this cost. If you would like to help participate in this opportunity to establish stable power for this particular ministry in Western Kenya, you can send checks for a tax receipt, to New Choices Fellowship Church in Emmett, ID. They have agreed to do this for them. We personally are contributing to this fund as well, because we believe in what Pastor Michael is doing, and what God is doing thru him.

Sincerely, Tim Benedict (208-272-1207 cell/text for questions)
